Karndean Cleaning Bristol

Karndean Cleaning Sealing and Maintaining

Many people  enjoy the luxury of a beautiful Karndean Floor. Whilst the maintenance kit supplied alows them the ability to clean and then seal the floor, over time they may lose the time to carry this out consistently, have longer time intervals between cleans  and so the floor begins to soil. This can lead to poor appearance and the onset of wear or heavier soiling. This is where Karndean Cleaning Bristol has carried out a clean and seal for a client.

Karndean Cleaning in Bristol
Karndean Floor before cleaning

Asked by a Client to carry out Karndean Cleaning in Bristol and to return the floor to its original glory. The floor is a wood grain-effect Karndean and the grain structure had become heavily soiled, as the seal had worn it has become a trap for soils. The floor was dry microfibre moppped and then a pre-spray applied and allowed to dwell for 10 minutes. This allowed the soils to become separated from the surface and held in suspension, making it easier to remove from the flooring.

As the product is a Nano-technology product, the level of soil removal is much greater and much safer, as it is also environmentally friendly.

Now the soil is agitated, via either a rotary machine,or an orbital pad machine. This dislodges the soil and allows it to be ready for capture during the next process.

The soil is now extracted away via an extraction machine and the floor is once again microfibre mopped to aid drying. The floor was then dried thoroughly with an air mover pointed at different areas of the room.

Once dry, the floor is resealed with two coats of seal, carried out in various directions, to ensure the floor was evenly covered and the grain structure was sealed to prevent re-soiling.

Conclusion

The end result was a happy client who has a restored floor and has been given the right maintenance product to ensure they do not remove the seal applied and make it easier to maintain.

Limestone Floor Cleaning in Bristol

Work Description

We were asked to survey and quote on Limestone Floor Cleaning in Bristol for a Client. The premises had been taken back to bare walls for restoration and the floor needed to be cleaned and resealed with an impregnating seal,  prior to Kitchen Installation.

The floor was swept, heavily vacuumed and the dry microfibre mopped to remove any surface debris and soiling. Next a pre-spray was applied to the Limestone Floor of a cleaning solution and water and allowed to dwell. This allows the soil to be removed in higher quantities and easier as the soil has lost it’s bond to the Limestone Floor. This we carry out when Limestone Floor Cleaning in Bristol, to give a cleaner end floor.

Once the cleaning solution has time to work, it is then agitated with a Rotary Machine with a medium stiff brush to get in amongst the tumbled surface. The soil and cleaning solution is then extracted away via an extraction machine and a hard floor wand and rinsed with water.

This process is continued until all the floor has been cleaned and is free from soil. The floor is then left for 48 hours to completely dry out from moisture and we then returned and applied two coats of a solvent based impregnator, to seal the floor from accepting staining into the Limestone.

Conclusion

The Client was then left a maintenance cleaning product, to help maintain the floor without using harsh chemicals that may remove the impregnating seal. The right maintaining cleaner will do this and not leave harsh residues that attract soiling to return faster.

The job requested

We were called by a cleaning company to see if we could assist in safety floor cleaning in Bristol. The floor in the ground floor office, entrance and storage area had become deeply ingrained into the grain structure and was in need of a thorough clean.

The owners had spent several hours themselves, but to no avail as all they had removed was the surface soiling. The products they were using were also caustic and there was a fear for the surface of the floor.

We were asked if we thought we could make an impact on the floor as they didnt think it possible to get thoroughly clean

Moving forward

From the test patch the owners were impressed and booked us to carry out the work.

Carrying out the work

On arrival, we immediately removed all loose items of the floor, swept and microfibre dry mopped it to remove all debris and particulate from the areas.

Next, we made up a pre-spray of Oleonix Full Spectrum Cleaner at 20:1 and pre-sprayed an area of approx 3 metres square. We left the spray to “loosen the soil” for a good 10 minutes whilst we prepared the equipment.

To agitate the spray and carry out soil removal whilst vinyl safety floor cleaning, we used a combination of a Rotowash machine and a 17″ Rotary fitted with a green pad. We began then in sections to agitate and remove the soiling, from deep within the grain structure.

We continued the process throughout the floor, using the rotary machine on the larger areas where there was more room.

When vinyl safety floor cleaning, areas were cleaned back and then thoroughly rinsed with water. The biggest advantage of these methods are:

  • Eco-safe products minimise water used
  • The cleaning product cut down time with it’s efficiency
  • The products work to Nano levels, meaning soils are taken away to a much smaller level and to a greater depth.
  • Due to cleaning efficiency more soil is removed, making it longer to eventually re-soil
  • No strong odour or smell
  • No effect on the flooring as no caustics, detergents, phosphates were used.

Conclusion

The Owners were extremely pleased with the results from our vinyl safety floor cleaning and have booked us in to carry out annual cleans to keep the floor looking good.

Slate Floor Cleaning in Bristol

Slate Floor Cleaning in Bristol

We recently completed slate floor cleaning in Bristol. The clients had found the floor difficult to maintain and with two children and two dogs on the edge of the country meant it needed to be cleaned and well sealed to help with the maintenance. The grout lines were particularly bad and were heavily soiled.

We firstly applied protective film to all the upright surfaces around the area to protect from any splashes. Next we set about pre-spraying the area to be cleaned with an eco-safe cleaning product, that is not harmful to surfaces, pets and children. The pre-spray is allowed to dwell, then is scrubbed with a rotary machine and brush attachment to help  loosen the soil. The grout lines are cleaned to depth with the aid of a grout brush

The loosened soil is then rinsed away with water via an extraction machine and hard floor wand. The floor is checked for uniformity and any areas are touched over. Then air movers are placed onto the floor and the floor dried in sections to aid drying time

The floor is then blown dry

We then allowed the floor to thoroughly dry over two days to ensure there is nor remaining moisture before we return to reseal it.

Slate Floor Cleaning in Bristol which has been sealed
The floor has been sealed with colour enhancer and four layers of seal

To bring out the range of colours on the floor, the floor is sealed with a colour enhancer and  four layers of seal. The colour enhancer is a much thicker product that deepens the colour of the stone to make it more attractive. This is carried out at hourly intervals with a seal applicator and then time is given to allow each coat of the seal to dry.

Once completed, we ensure the client has the right cleaning product to upkeep the floor.

Overview

We have recently completed  Limestone Floor Cleaning in Somerset. The floor was heavily soiled and the owners were struggling to keep up with maintaining the floor.
We carried out a survey and a demonstration test patch which showed the impregnator previously applied had broken down. The owners were so impressed with the test area, we were given the task of restoring the floor to its former glory.

We first protected all the upright surfaces with a protective film and wax paper which has taped into place. We then set about brushing and dry microfibre mopping the floor to remove any loose soil and debris.

Next, we applied a pre-spray of Oleonix Full Spectrum Cleaner and allowed the product dwell time to break down and suspend the soil.  This is an eco-safe product that is safe to use across all stone surfaces especially when Limestone Floor Cleaning, whilst gently lifting away soil. Once it had time to dwell, we then lightly scrubbed into the surface to loosen the soil using a rotary machine and a medium stiffness brush attachment.

We then rinsed the floor and removed all soil and chemical using a hard floor wand attached to an extraction machine. This then leaves a clean and neutralised surface.  The floor was then “blown dry” using air movers and allowed to thoroughly dry naturally. This is very important when cleaning porus stone and carrying out Limestone Floor Cleaning

Two days later we returned to impregnate the floor with an impregnator seal to reduce the chances of soiling and staining. We also supplied  a maintenance cleaning product and microfibre flat mopping system and instructed the client how to use it effectively.

Conclusion

The floor is now easy to maintain and with the right products the impregnator is not affected by the eco-safe product supplied.

Besides Limestone Floor Cleaning, we carry out cleaning and restoration of a number of natural and man-made floors

Slate Floor Cleaning in Cheddar

Slate Floor Cleaning in Cheddar

A Kitchen and Dining area Slate floor restored to its former glory.

The Slate floor in Cheddar, was heavily soiled from lack of maintenance. Over a time period of 15 plus years and the new owners of the premises commissioned us to clean and reseal the floor.

They had attempted but could not clean thoroughly or deeply to remove the soil and seal from the floor. The floor was firstly sprayed in a coating of  Oleonix Full Spectrum Cleaner which is an eco-safe product and allowed to dwell for 30 minutes. This allows the product time to break through the soils and seal for easier removal. It was then scrubbed with a rotary machine and medium stiffness brush and the soil broken down and easily removed. The floor was then rinsed with water to remove the suspended soiling and then allowed to dry.

Finally once dry, four coats of a topical seal were applied at set intervals over a day, to help make the floor easier to maintain and repel soil levels

Latest Slate Floor Clean & Reseal in Bristol

Slate-before-cleaning

The pictures above show the latest clean & reseal carried out on a Slate Floor in Bristol. The floor has gradually lost a lot of the seal off of the surface and the grout lines had become ingrained. After a deep grout clean, the surface was stripped of the existing seal and soiling back to it’s original surface. Then it was re-coated by hand, with coats of seal to build up to the required finish. All carried out with environmentally friendly products.

How Regular Cleaning Can Maintain A Carpets Lifespan

DSC_00531
Cleaning A Carpet Maintains It’s Life

Regular cleaning of a carpet is a difficult routine to get into. How many of us would remember when our Dental Checkup is unless sent reminders? Similarly, we forget when we last had  our carpets cleaned and then the time rolls by…  The problem is, oily bonding films are overtime allowed to apply themselves to our carpet fibres and in doing so the sticky nature allows more dry content to stick to them. This is causing an abrasive action deep within your carpet, as well as the fact that it is starting to “gum” your fibres together making your walkways looked trampled down.

We can remedy this with a maintenance schedule, we can prompt you when the date and times are due for your  clean and keep your carpets looking fresh and clean. After all, our carpets are some of the most expensive furnishings we purchase and it pays to make them last as they should.
